Smart Aleck Footwear

Today's title (see 8-Down) stems from an expression I've heard on a number of U.K. detective shows, but a recent encounter with it in the wild spurred me into featuring it in a grid. The entry for 8-Down is also the name of a live album by 10cc. The group that gave us "The Things We Do For Love" also sang "Dreadlock Holiday," a reggae toe-tapper that should induce some swaying.
